Advice on these non-OE 7" & 9" X 17" Fuchs? (NOT 16")
Hey all. As many of you know, street tires for 7" & 9"X16" OE Fuchs are basically no longer available ... and I mean anything that is close to the 205/50/16 and 245/45/16 combo I run on the car. (I spent hours yesterday calling around the US.) The only option now seems to be running track tires. So, it looks like it's time to upgrade from 16" to 17" rims for my daily driver, which you see here.
![]() I'd like to keep the classic look, and from what I can tell, there are only two options for this: 1.) Lindsey Racing: 17 INCH P2 WHEEL PAINTED CENTER at LINDSEY RACING - Your Porsche Performance Parts Center 2.) Zuffenhaus: https://www.zuffenhaus.us/cgi-bin/commerce.exe?preadd=action&key=ST-601 Any other options, or anecdotal info on these two wheels would be much appreciated, e.g., are either of these wheels superior? Are they as strong as the legendary Fuchs? Best to all.

There are also Euromeister wheels, I think coming soon, and the Rota wheels. I have read many complaints about the Rotas due to poor build quality and structural failure. There are some others out there I think too.
I have no experience with any aftermarket Fuchs. I have heard that the Lindsey wheels are well made, the problem seems to be though that the barrels and hardware tend to be stronger than the ~30 year old center that was cut out of a (usually) 16x6. People have complained of centers failing. The Zuffenhaus wheels seem to be very well made, and perhaps the best repros out there. That said, they are priced accordingly for this. I think they are 3-piece with hidden hardware, but could be wrong. Also Fuchs is remaking the Fuchs (hope that isn't confusing). As in the real Fuchs (fox logo company) is remaking the, technically 'no name' wheels ever so popular on the 911. I believe they are making some in 17", but I don't know if they are the correct offset. Anyone have any news on the real Fuchs? But as for whats on the market now I think Zuffenhaus seem to be very good. Again I don't have any real experience with any aftermarket/replica Fuchs, so I really don't know for sure. I spoke with Wheel Enhancement yesterday on this topic, and I was told that Porsche ordered some new Fuchs made a few years ago ... price is $5700 for a replacement set ... take that for what it's worth.

I saw the 15*9 at $1860 and 16*9 at like $1400 a piece from Porsche vintage parts. Kind of makes all other options seem like a reasonable venture. They have released several sizes, but all are priced similar. It WONT kill the used wheel market for sure.
