Garage
The Garage is close to done. **Pics**

Well, here it is. Don't quite have the $$ for the lift yet... perhaps in the next couple months. This is the cleanest it will ever look- the shelves will be filled up w/ junk very soon.

My wife did not really like my choice for the roof color (I love it)....

Here is the workbench area:

Roll up door:

One more:

We have hired a company to install a fieldstone patio, walk, and drainage pipes. They are also going to do a bit of landscaping. This whole project should be complete by the end of May.

Um, missing something.... WHERE'S THE CAR!?

Lookin' great. I'm about 3 months behind you in getting my garage in shape, but it's never going to look that good. Sheesh, my cars aren't clean enough to park in there........

Nice!

Right, that does it. I'm fed up with all these pictures of smart garages.....I am going to have to take a few of mine, then you can see what a REAL garage looks like! Watch this space, it may take a few days....

Awesome! All that I see that is missing is the refrigerator full of beverages and a radio. Someday I'll have me one like it put in my backyard. Great-looking garage you have there and I know that you'll enjoy it. I slobber over my father-in-law's garge everytime that I go to his house. He has a two-story three-bay garage in his backyard. One day...

Thanks guys.

carreradpt: There is no heating or a/c- I do have a "Ready heater", which will heat this small space up in about 5 mins. In fact, when I was drying out the concrete before applying the bonding primer I let the heater run for 2.5 hours and the garage got up to 135!

boyo: The floor is not quite ready for parking yet. You are supposed to wait 7 days.. but we have had a bunch of rain and 90% humidity so I will give it 2 weeks before I park on it.

Targa77: look below the chop saw... I have a radio. The fridge may come someday, but the lift is first on the list. Not a long walk to the fridge in our kitchen!

TrueBrit: Give me a couple months. It will be looking more like a real garage everyday!

Ah! The floor is that new...

One other question: where'd you get the Gulf sign? Very cool...

That's a beatiful garage. With that lighting, it looks like a den or a home theater. Think shadows will be a problem?

I got the sign from a good buddy who ownes the best antique store in Marietta... "Antiques on the Square". If you are ever near Marietta, Ga be sure to check out his store. He always has some good automobile related antiques (as well as a bunch of other great stuff).

Nader- Check out the first photo- with all of the lights on (8 55w recessed lights and 4 250w halogens) it is very bright w/ almost no shadows. I also have a portable florescent light that is great for lighting up the underside of a car.

i dont see the area designated for the wifes sewing, cleaning, and craft supplies? you should put some tape on the floor (like Les Nessman's office on WKRP in Cincinnati) and reshot some pictures to share with us.

Wow!

Very nice! My Carrera is jealous!

Can't tell if you've done it or not, but I suggest you anchor the shelves to the wall to keep them from toppling over. Of course, we Californians are a little more paranoid about ground movement, but in case the load is on the front, or someone climbs up a shelf to reach the top...

Way to go!

Don

Congratulations. Great idea with the blue ceiling and I love the Gulf sign.

All that wall space needs is some Porsche memorbilia!

Well I hope you're very pleased with yourself.

Here's my what garage looks like - yes one of the little blue doors behind the car - it's about 4 inches longer and 12 inches wider than the car is - I can only just get out once I'm parked. It sort of limits the amount of tinkering I can do.
