Vacumn/Fuel Evap Hose Sizes/Lengths?

Can someone tell me the sizes and lengths of the vacumn and fuel evaporation hoses needed for a '81 3.0 engine? I have a '76 911 Targa with an '81 3.0 engine and a crappy Haynes shop manual. I want to replace all these hoses.

Does any one have good diagrams or photos of these systems they can share?

Source(s) for the hoses? I would like the same type braided black hoses.

How can you tell if the charcoal canister needs replaced? Source(s)?

I am new to 911 maintenance and this is my first cry for help, I mean post.

Thanks.

Wow. Our host has posted "Porsche 914 1.8L Fuel Injection Diagram by Pete Klager", under the "EFI Hose Diags", in the 914 section of the Features column. It has all of the diagrams, color coded, and a table of sizes/lengths, color coded, and a summary of all sizes and lengths needed!!!!! It is awesome! Check it out for the format!

Does this exist for the 3.0 engines? Is it posted on this site anywhere? If not it would be great addition. With so many of these engines/cars out there, are there hose kits for sale?

My charcoal (Edit - oops carbon) canister needs to be re-installed on my '81. When I pulled the engine last year the cloth braided hoses crumbled. Well, ripped in half without effort. Let me see what I can find out.

Edit - See pages 114 and 115 of 489 in this pdf file. It provides the lengths.

Found nothing in PP as far as hoses with the exterior braiding.

Loaded in the part numbers for the hoses into Google. The N 020 361 2 and N 020 362 1 numbers.

Found this. I bet the 12 MM would work.

I called the place and their 12mm hose is the ID. I will buy this hose for my 81. I also need the 4.5mm hose for the smaller fitting. This hose comes in red instead of the black/gray color. The color change will easily cut two tenths off your quarter mile time. EDIT - I did not ask them specifically if this was fuel rated line. From reading related posts this is a must. I will call tomorrow to confirm - they are closed right now.

EDIT - The port on the left of the picture faces the rear bumper when mounted - on the SC's that port does not have a hose on it and is left open. Please correct me if I am wrong (anybody). I cannot find mention of an engine port on the SC that accepts a hose from this location (unlike the pre SC cars). The parts diagram also does not show a hose.
