Worth it tie roll BAR into rear shock cross member??
Thinking about putting a roll bar into the 74. This will be a roll bar and not a cage as I will be street driving it as well (I have been considering removable door bars though). Seen a couple of great examples of weld in roll bars. A few of the examples chose to breach the rear firewall and weld the roll bar to the rear shock mounts.
I will not be going coil overs on this car. Nonetheless, will doing the above-mentioned add any rigidity? Thanks for the help. ![]() |

Worth it? Describe your needs.
IIRC the race sanctioning bodies restrict that....

Thanks Joe for helping me clarify.
My needs are street driving and DE use. Wife is barely ok with DE as it sits now. Unfortunately, racing won't be in this cars future. |

If it's a coupe, street, AX, DE, a bolt in is adequate.....IMHO and per the rules...it ain't real racing.....
Safer than Pinto.....

Do you say bolt in, so that I can remove it when only street driving? I know there is controversy regarding roll bars in street cars, but hope to have the bar far enough (18") from my seat back.
