Trying to find my first 911 SC/Carrera
Hello,
I'm looking for my first Porsche 911 daily driver and have decided on an SC or Carrera. To find used cars I am currently checking: pelican classifieds craigslist rennlist pca mart via my 6 month trial membership I live in Los Angeles and am not seeing many quality private party ads on craigslist at reasonable prices. It seems that dealers are gobbling them all up and want 25-30k. |
Might post a wanted ad here. Preferred colours, mods, cab/coupe/targa, etc.
Good luck! |
+1 to Paul's post.
What is your budget? Do you want a car you can upgrade or completely stock? Either way, have a PPI performed on any serious candidates before buying. Good luck with the search. You'll find just the right one if you are patient. |
22k tops and something that doesn't need a lot of work up front. I want the car as original as possible outside of regular maintenance and upkeep. And prefer coupe > cab > targa

Hi,
You can use my website: Rideslist.com - car classifieds (sfbay) I wrote it when I was in the exact same situation :) It will quickly tell you if it's a dealer/private seller as well as the generation and the body style. Cheers, |

Autotrader.com and classicautotrader.com for older 911's is another good place to look. Good luck!

Try searchtempest for craigslist. Covers all US and Canada.

When spring comes people people typically list more cars. In addition to a WTB ad, I suggest searching the for sale forum for your area or for specific options that you want on your 911 (year, g50, colour, coupe, targa etc). There may have been some cars that were listed over last summer that did not sell and the seller lost motivation. Thats how I found mine :)
good luck |

Stock black SCs are a favorite.

I know. Wonder what the deal is? I like the colour combo, and it's a G50. |

I am within 6 hours of this car, and I have often thought about going to see it, just to get the scoop. For a good G50 car in a decent color, I would imagine the sale price to be higher, even with those miles. I wonder if the thing has an oil consumption problem, and nobody wants to take the thing on at that price. |
