RE: 1975 911 Carrera 2.7 CIS (USA, CA.) dealer installed A/C
Preping the car for my first valve adustment tommorrow morning. When I line the Z1 mark up with the case notch, the roter will not line up with the distributor housing notch. The distributor has been updated to Bosch, I don't know if this matters. Any suggestions or ideas? Also a thought. What happens if you pass your 120 degree turn while going to the next cylinder for adjustment? Eric

if the pulley is on Z1, it's either on #1 or #4. the rotor will tell you which one. if the rotor is pointing in the vicinity of #1, then you're safe. there's a notch for each cylinder TDC on the pulley, 120° apart. you can see them better with a mirror and flashlight. you need to be on the proper mark before adjusting the valves on that cylinder.
