Ummm... Gas tank lid won't open
So I pull the gas tank release and guess what it doesn't open, how do I open my lid so I can fix it and I can put gas in. Such a stupid question I gotta buy waynes book, I bet the answer is in there.

Before you damage the paint, try a short length of nylon cord (like used in a weed-wacker). Hold one end in each hand, slide it into the crevice in front of the latch, pull back. May take a few attemps, but won't damage the paint. Tip: Keep a bit of line in the tool kit.

If you're lucky (I was) your cable isn't broken and the problem is too many washings and not enough lube on the hinge and spring that "pops" the lid open. I was able with one hand through the window, to pull the release knob and with the other, lift the lid. Once open I pulled the knob and found the release was working just fine. I shot some WD-40 on the hinge and spring and a bit on the cable. It now pops up just like a GI coming to attention! Hope your fix is as simple as mine.
