Door pocket(s) question

Currently, my 73 Coupe has the original armrests. The original door pockets were too far gone and are not on the car. Q: Will 74 + door pockets fit on my 73 and mate up to the 73 armrests.

Any advise is welcome, thanks.

Also, I should add, I installed the more modern door panels too.

Okay, no one has responded so I will but you have to realize this is from memory as my 73.5 is gone.

74+ panels and armrests will fit your car. However, IRCC, you will not be able to mate the 74+ door pockets with 73 armrests and handles. The opening for later door pockets is actually the top of the armrest itself whereas the 73, as you know, has a solid armrest and the pocket tilts out from underneath.

Since you've already switched out the panels, I'd probably be easiest to find 74+ armrests and pockets to add to your car. However, I have seen aftermarket pockets that will fit with your 73 armrests (not the repro tilt-out ones) that you may look into.

Remember, the above is from memory so I hope this stimulates others to chime in to confirm or correct any information but at least this is a start.

I asked this about 10 years ago & someone told me you could swap to the newer style -- I never did tho, and just run around w/o map pockets...

If you do it, I'd love to see you post pics...
