Oil Line

Hi Guys,
I have been trying to take off an oil line running from the thermostat to the engine but I have not been able to unscrew it from the thermostat. I tried heat, but it did not budge.
Any suggestions/solutions? Obviously, my concern is breaking the thermostat.
Thanks.
Dan

I've read that there is a special thin wrench set needed for oil line work. Other than that, I'm afraid I can't help much...

split the nut with a disc cutter. cut until you just see the threads and split it with a chisel.

Depending on how much time you have, I followed the advice of this board, I squirted WD40 on the nuts daily for about two weeks. The lines were off the car so I was able to put the thermostat in a vice. I used one of those 36mm oil wrenches being sold on Ebay by some guy in Montana. It worked very well.

I would have never been able to get the lines off if they were on the car. Maybe worth cutting the back lines and removing your hard lines lines - only 4 sheet metal screws.
