Q re SC coil support bracket

Why is it mounted this way , when the coil will bolt directly to the fan housing?
What else would bolt to the threads on the right?
Might it be some way of reducing heat/vibration transfer???

I've removed mine , and maybe in the past there was an airpump or something attached?

Mine is like that so the AC condenser fan will close and not rub on the coil.

The air pump support/stabilizer bracket attaches to the top bolt on the fan housing closest to the camera. There is a small vibration damper close to the bolt which needs some room to clear the coil.
