Never heard of Renntech. I've heard Black Forest in Auburn does good work. Never been there so check them out for yourself.

I use Salerno Motorsports in Rocklin, not cheap but does good work. It's fun to go there just to check out tricked out P-cars as well as lambo's & ferrari's in the shop.

Depending on the work you need, you might also contact Jimmy Deering @ Mobile Works [PORSCHEWORKS(at)aol.com] who has a mobile P repair service. Have read a lot of good reports from his service.

Hey I know Renntech. The owner's name is Gary, and he is very good at what he does. I don't think he advertises because all his business is word-of-mouth; he has more work than he can chew. I am a DIYer, but I had him adjust the A/F mixture on my car before and after the last smog check. He only works on Porsches and occasionally Subarus too. Other Porsche owners have always suggested both Renntech and Salerno Motor Sports as the two most reputable shops in the area. I prefer Renntech because his shop is more down-to-Earth, and it's just him and his apprentice. I hope this helps.

Gary at Renntech gave me a couple 944 flanges, for aligning parts on our 951 LSDs. He's a nice guy.

Renntech focuses on primarily air-cooled Porsche's - Gary knows his stuff, and my '74 has never run better since his last tune.

Salerno has a good following (a couple buddies use them for their F cars) and if you are closer to downtown Sac there's Frank's and IPB Autosport (and I recommend Ron's shop too).

If you have an air cooled car, I don't think you'd go wrong with Gary.

Gary at Renntech did my clutch a couple summers ago on my '85. Happy with his work.
