Back to square 9 11 :D

It took me two years to realize i made a mistake when i parked my car and stopped thinking about it. but the addiction has come back full force.I guess i can thank the movie "Love the Beast " for making me remember why i love my 911 and what drew me to it in the first place . i am coming on my one year mark in the military and have decided that i want to come back from my upcoming deployment to a finished car i will want to daily drive again once more .i have ordered piles of parts and had my family blow the dust of my poor car and i am coordinating everything to have it completed while im in the sands

After a long time collecting dust i am knee deep into the restoration/update of the 911, it took me a couple years of active duty away a deployment and a motorcycle wreck before i could start wrenching on my car again but here is a small snapshot of what i have been doing this year

81turboporsche 10-19-2015 06:15 PM

i left my car stashed in a family members musty garage for 3 years while i was stationed in georgia hoarding an ungodly amount of parts

my inspiration has been the carrera 3.8 964 rsr with a ducktail i know i know it has been done before but i thought it would be a departure from the usual 70's backdates that have become the norm for the board

picked up some parts along the way including all new gaskets throughout the car 993tt big reds and rotors , rennline strutbar , weltmeister harness bar, bursch headers mk gt3 style exhaust, short shift kit, mach 1 underdash speaker kit rs door kit sport classics off of a boxster s which will be for sale soon " i cant use spacers anymore" a 964 rsr bumper set f/g biggest mistake buying ever but i intend on tracking the car so its cost effective , mocal fender mount oil cooler and other boxes of german doodads i cant recall

Half of the reason i stopped was that some interesting cars kind of fell into my lap and that car bug never stopped my best friend sold me a 2001 audi s4 avant for a price if i said no one would believe me and another sold me a original 71 corvette roadster i had been begging to buy for the better part of a decadehttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1445304847.jpg

after bringing the car back one of my best friends and i tackled an issue that stopped the car dead in its tracks a front suspension rot hole on the driver side from a improperly fixed accident before i owned the car. after the car was repaired and sealed we put the new gas tank in and began on the body work to the tune of almost two weeks whenever we werent working at our respective day jobs, weekends be damned..... here is where we are now still some work to be done but my pride and joy has a new lease on lifehttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1445305109.jpg

The car is in paint finally! i just need to reassemble all the bits now. move the oil line to account for the headers shave the exhaust stud bolts extend the gt3 tips to move past the bumper and wire in all the 965 parts have another rs interior put in the car and of course have custom wheels made so i can eliminate the spacers. its going to be a busy winter.
