Dashboard vs. Instrument pannel repair/ replacement
The ride home from Hershey was the first time Phoenix has seen or felt rain since her restoration. 5 minutes into the drive, water began pouring in from around the windshield and between the dash cracks. Good 'ole duct tape around the trim and rubber got me home without further incident. Needless to say, I'm either bringing it back to the shop that originally did the great work (no other problems) or to a shop which specializes (as much as possible) in Porsche winshields.
At some point down the road I was planning on replacing the dashboard and doing some work to freshen up the instrument panel. Given the windshield needs to come out now, I'm thinking of replacing the dash now as well but don't want to pay $65/ hr. to freshen up the intrument panel especially when I'm confident I can do this myself (we'll see ;-) My questions is, can I remove the instrument panel at a later date without having to remove the dashboard top and windshield all over again? I'd like to drive her this summer and work on the rest over the winter.
