Removing rear seats

I am sure the answer is simple but before I tear into things I thought I'd ask.

I'm considering replacing the carpets and also do a little work around the bolts and fittings. In particular I was going to remove the rear seats and the side panels (one of these is broken and I'll have to fix it before re-carpeting).

When I fold the upper part of the seats down it looks like the carpet is glued to the back, and there seems to be some cardboard riveted to the carpet too.

Does anyone know what the easiest & possibly non-destructive way is to remove the upper parts?

Also how do you get the lowers out? are they just glued in?

Thanks in advance.

Lower ones are just glued in on my 81. The covering wraps under and then there is an uncovered area that shows the seat padding material under-layment. Kind of a rubber string mesh. It did not stick to the body when I pulled it off. I just overcame the glue adhesion with my hands. No special tools.

Here are a few pics from 930 rear seats that I borrowed. Note cardboard material. It does not appear to have glue on the cardboard side of the carpet tail. Maybe you take the rear shelf cover off to access the fasteners?
