911 SC Sunroof Question

When my sunroof reaches the full open or full closed position I hear a clicking sound like gears slipping. I assume that this is a protective issue that prevents damage to the mechanicals, but being a newbie I'm not sure. Is this normal?

Thanks,

I don't think mine clicks when it gets to the end of travel - it just sounds tired...

OK, thanks. Any ideas what could be causing the clicking sound?

I would say you tore the clutch.
Its a rubber gadget that is between the motor and the gearbox.
When I bought mine a few years ago it was over $100. For a 1 inch rubber gadget.
I couldn't figure a McGyver fix for mine. So I parted with $100.

hit up the used parts forum and post a WTB thread. There are some guys that are making racecars and taking out the sunroofs. You might get lucky to pick up a used one in good shape for half the price.

Hopefully you'll find someone that doesn't look up the price.
It looks like it should cost about .50c. LOL.

Jim,

I have a small box with sunroof parts that has been sitting for years in my shed. If my recollection is correct, I should have one in there. PM me your email and I'll send some pictures.

Tony
