The seats I am dreaming about...

I saw a '80 SC targa this weekend with the most BEAUTIFUL seats. The owner told me he got them from a 993 twin turbo.

I have searched the internet, and the only seats I can find like this are at the L.A. Porsche dismantlers. They want a ridiculous amount of money for them. Anyone have any ideas on where to shop?

Is there a Porsche dismantler in Northern California? I've been to Partsheaven, but the seats were all junk.

There's www.silverstarrecycling.com in Rancho Cordova...
However, they are more expensive than Partsheaven.com

There's also EASY in Emeryville, near Home Depot. Don't know if the prices will be any better, but its always fun to go down there and talk Porsches will people and ogle others' cars.

Spencer's the guy at EASY - no affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

I wouldn't think a 993's seat would match up with the floor pan mounting on an 80 SC? any thought's on this? I'd like ot upgrade as well, but haven't come up with a workable path to upgrade yet.

Thanks!

Chuck

Porsche Crest seats...

Two places I have come across with regular inventories of Porsche seats:

Webersport in California (831-771-9640).

CarQuip in Colorado (303-443-1343).

Here is a nice alternative to the factory sport seats. the recaro A8. It is no longer produced, so it is hard to get, but they are really great, and very light.

I'm pretty sure that '79 to '98 seats are interchangeable. Could be wrong, though.
