Best Engine/Motor Mounts?
Hello, I need to replace my engine mounts and see there is a wide variety of them out there. Anyone have any good info on comparisons as I’ve searched and can’t find anything.
I’ve heard OEM cab mounts work well and are a bit stiffer than the coupe ones, but looking to get some real world input. The car is an ‘83 coupe with a stomski coupling that is not tracked or DE, but driven often and spirited. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I had non Porsche motor mounts (purchased here) fail after a couple of years. Whether you get the stock replacement or Cab mounts get Genuine Porsche.

Wevo makes a nice set of engine mounts , either soft or hard pillow depending on your requirements and along with a Rennline stainless crossmember it makes for a very solid combination to keep your engine and transmission correctly aligned !
They also have bolt on transmission mounts for the pre G50 cars , which require the mounts to be welded in place.

I have Wevo mounts for engine and transmission crossmember in my '83 SC and am very pleased. I also have them in my 996 and note that the change in NVH was greater in that car, but still very acceptable to this senior citizen.

Wevo in my 88 coupe. Love them. Both engine and transmission mounts.

The cab mounts 911-375-043-07 are a nice upgrade from the stock ones. I've used the German one's instead of the Porsche ones. They've work well for me in my 82SC and 87.
While you're doing the engine mounts don't forget the transmission mounts. They're the same part on an 83. |

Beware the word "upgrade". Harder mounts means more noise and vibration, and if you're having trouble shifting with fresh rubber mounts...something else is wrong...
Another fun question is which way to face the top and bottom washers... |

Stomski mounts used to come with all three hardness level bushings.
I have them on my 930. No issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My 83 Cab had...new factory Cab mounts and they were fine. I went back to Rebel Racing mounts because it does make everything feel "locked in." No more vibration than OEM Cab/Sport mounts, just a better feel when I slide thru corners and get a bit wicked. Plus they look cool! ;-)
