The Porsche Community Lost A Great Person on Saturday

We lost the great Automotive Journalist Patrick C. Paternie on Saturday at Willow Springs Raceway. I feel that this needs to be in this Forum also. We all have read his work, or use "The Red Book" for 911 purchases. He will be greatly missed.

Here are some threads in different forums.

Patrick Charles Paternie RIP Started by his Son Patrick E. Paternie

Patrick C. Paternie RIP The Early 911S Forum.

That is horrible, horrible news. I have a hard time believing it.

I served with Pat on the OC Region PCA board of directors 15, 20 years ago. I worked with him on some of his books, etc. and while we didn't stay in super close contact, we did touch base from time to time.

A truly wonderful, thoughtful and kind person, he will be missed by many.

That's very bad news. My condolences to Mr. Paternie's family and friends.

Wow, I didn't know Mr. Paternie but I will send our condolences to his family and the Porsche community.

I almost teared up when picturing him parking the 911 for the last time.

I am fortunate to say I knew Patrick well and lucky enough to call him a friend. The news of his passing hit hard today. He was a wonderful guy.

I'll miss his easy going, "up for anything" attitude and great contributions to automotive journalism.

Thanks for the memories Patrick, we're going to miss you.

Seize the day, and take time to focus on what's important....

I did not know your father, but please take comfort that he went the way we probably all would love to go - having just raced our Porsche and parking it next to the trailer. I send my condolences to you, your family and his friends.
