Porsche Transmission Compatibility
Hi, my Porsche is a 1968 911T 2.0L. This is the European spec SWB car (chassis 11820xxx). It currently has a transmission from a later car which I want to replace with the correct transmission. I believe this should be either a 901/10 (4 sp) or 901/03 (5 sp). Could anyone confirm? If so, these are hard to find so I would also like to know if any other of the '901/xx' transmissions for SWB cars up to 1968 are compatible?
Thanks in advance,

Yes, the 11820xxx is a 911T and should have a 2 series transmission. Typical 1968 transmissions are:
902/01 1080001 A 11:34 H 19:32 Q 24:27 X 28:24 _______ 7:31 912 1968 4 speed 902/02 1280001 A 11:34 F 18:34 M 22:29 S 25:26 X 28:24 7:31 912 1968 5 speed 901/10 2080001 A 11:34 HB 19:31 S 25:26 Z 29:23 _______ 7:31 911 1968 4 speed 901/03 2280001 A 11:34 F 18:34 M 22:29 S 25:26 Z 29:23 7:31 911 1968 5 speed 902/1 3280001 A 11:34 F 18:34 M 22:29 S 25:26 X 28:24 7:31 911 1968 5 speed 901/05 3282001 A 11:34 F 18:34 M 22:29 S 25:26 X 28:24 7:31 911 1968 5 speed 901/02 4280001 A 11:34 F 18:34 M 22:29 S 25:26 Z 29:23 7:31 911 1968 5 speed But there are many more 901/xx and 902/xx to choose from. Some aluminum case, some magnesium case. Some Loebro joints, some CV joints. Some normal diff, some simplified diff.
