OK, so the problem persisted for a short time, allowing a couple of other localized tests. I removed the Ignition plug to remove power coming through on both the Gry wire (from ignition to turn signal switch for standing lights option as well as removing any possible power on the Red/Wht wire coming from "X" on ignition through pin 75 of light switch and onward to pin 30 of turn signal switch. I then disconnected each of the turn signal indicator bulbs independently within the tach and the problem continued. This should now isolate the issue even further to the actual turn signal circuitry.

Attached is what I believe is left to test. Highlighted in yellow is possible problem areas, while hashed out red I believe to have been eliminated.

OK, possibly final update. I dug out my old turn signal relay last night (was replaced because the plastic cover is broken and no longer seats / locks down). Again, the front of the car was quite warm from being in the sun, and the problem persisted. I pulled the gauges out to pull the relay and try the old one. I wiggled it around a bit, but it was snug. Decided to try the hazard light switch, which simply lit up and stayed on. I then tried to adjust the relay and see if I could change anything. When I simply applied pressure to the sides of the relay housing it began to click - very strange. So I tried it again, without actually moving the relay - same thing, it started to work. I was pretty much able to make it work at will. I then coaxed the relay out (after of course disconnecting the battery...) and placed my orignal (case challenged) relay back. It worked right away and I couldn't get it to NOT work. So since yesterday it's worked. Temperatures are supposed to come up again today and it's in the sunshine, so will see if my hopes / suspicions are correct. As a side note, I stopped by at our local dealership where I bought the relay last June and they ordered me a new one, no questions asked. So no complaints there - did have my original receipt of course. Here's keeping my fingers crossed.:D

So... after a full day of use - turn signal still working with old broken cover relay. Good news - wonder if others' problems are the same issue (relay faulty). Recommend folks try what I tried.
