How many teeth does the speedo gear have and what is its diameter? My gear has crumbled but I found a online source but need to know teeth and diameter. 180mph VDO. Odometer gear about the size of a dime. HELP!

Save yourself the trouble and just send it out to be repaired. Hollywood Speedometer or Palo Alto Speed do great work.
While it CAN be done, if you fark it up you'll end up sending it out anyway.
