My Little Project - Advice and Help Needed

Hi guys,

I'm new on the forum and I decided to post because it's time for me to get back on the horse. My first Porsche was a 1981 911 SC and since I sold it, I have been missing owning a Porsche.

My idea now is to build a 911 1973 RSR replica type of thing (I'm sure to be the only one loving the duck tail...). but I’m not sure which way would be the best for me. Here are my options I think:

- get a 1973-74 shell and build everything around it
- get a rolling car and improve it
- get a more modern 911 (964) and retrofit it. Here I like the idea of having ABS, A/C and other electronics but I feel like it won’t be the same.

I also have a few questions for you guys:

- $ wise, how expensive would it be to build one from scratch?
- When you sell them, do you recoup any value or is it a total loss? (I know, I shouldn't look at it this way)
- How reliable are these cars when fully rebuilt?
- What should I look at and look for when buying the car?
- Where do you think is the best place to get a car?

Any other advice?

Thanks a lot,
John
