Reducing dB and drone

Hi

A biker friend of mine showed me these: dB Dawg 4-Stroke sound reducer silencer insert brought to you by Hyde Racing!

Anyone try them or similar?

The largest one I can find is 2", but have asked them if they have, or can make, a larger version. Also asked if they have tried these on cars.

Looks like an ID reducer. You could perhaps replicate by welding or otherwise install a large washer.

Ben at M&K sells an internal exhaust cap. Kind of like a tin can with one end cut off. I just drilled a bigger and bigger hole in the end until I got the amount of noise I could stand (1 in/2 out muffler w/ 2 1/2" outlets). I ended up with a hole of about 1 1/2" diameter. I just put it in the driver's side because the inlet was almost a straight shot to that outlet.

It only sets off the occasional car alarm now, not all of them for blocks around.;)

How much do the Supertrapps actually lower the dB level? I've never used them, but found this online: Supertrapp testing with Porsche 911 3.6 - YouTube

Depends on the number of discs.....more = louder....less = quieter and more back pressure.
