'84 Carrera Antenna Problem

My Carrera's power antenna is not working and the Bentley manual does not have the '84 information that shows a power antenna.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the power antenna on the right fender they can scan?

To make matters worse (much) a custom radio/cd player and new speakers have been cut into the system and it will be crazy trying to trace back all of the original wiring since there were yards of electrical tape used!

I am hoping there is an in line fuse that is bad. Pulling the antenna will mean fighting all of that electrical tape!

Thanks

bump and a little more info.

The aftermarket stereo installer cut into the power antenna bundle by splicing the factory brown ground into a black antenna wire. A white antenna wire is spliced into a stereo power wire per the stereo installation manual and the antenna red appears to be untouched.

Any help with a passenger fender mounted power antenna wiring diagram or description would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Pulling the antenna is probably your best option. There is a hot (constant) lead, and the power lead (blue) from your stereo. The antenna mechanism itself is not at all complicated, and you can figure it out without a diagram. You probably need to clean out the motor and replace the power mast.
