Did Porsche make aluminum sugar scoop headlight surrounds?

I have a pair of sugarscoops. Came off a 68.
They are not magnetic so I thought stainless but they are so light maybe aluminum? The reflector part which is metal and magnetic is rusty so it is steel.

Anyone know?

My guess would also be brass as the base metal. Find an inconspicuous spot and sand the silver metal and see if brass color begins to show through. AFIK, all scoops were chrome in 68 so yours may be brass/nickle/chrome that had been scuffed to accept paint.

Ossi , That is what it looks like to me and makes sence.
I see very fine lines which look like sanding to me.

Yup, just scraped a fine line on the backside and I can see a yellowish hue to it .

Thanks Ossi.
