anyone running a "silver" hood badge on their carrera
my front emblem recently came off (don't ask) and i was looking at the pelican site and saw that they are offering a silver badge which is significantly more expensive, but looks pretty cool. does anyone have one of these on their carrera? does it look nice in an oem sort of way or does it clearly look aftermarket? any pictures are appreciated.
thanks, david

Cool. Haven't seen that before. It would look good on my silver 930. Now you got me thinking.....

I am curious as well. I have a triple black SC Cab with the poilshed Fuch's and I am thinking the silver emblem would match better. Want to make sure before I pay a premium for it!

It's $80. if no one has a picture, i'm going to have to go ahead and be the guineau pig for the group. i'm thinking about pulling the trigger, but i would still love to see one on a Carrera.

Don't know where to get clear lamps in the US, but FVD in Germany has clear lamps: http://www.fvd.de/katalog/katalog/lichter_en.html
I have to say that it actually looks pretty good, but at 75 Euro for front and side lenses it's a bit on the expensive side

if you take a gold badge to a chrome shop, they just replate it w/chrome. doesn't hurt the cloisonne. i redo all my old car emblems that way.
there's also black chrome.

Saw a shiny new silver badge on a black 968. Looks great since the badging matches the silver rims. Also, the "Porsche" lettering is in black whereas on the gold version it is not.
I kind of like the black lettering, it stands out more-so then the classic gold version.

When we're on the subject of lenses. I got these side markers for my 930. They look a lot better than the squared ugly originals.
You can get them from www.aceparts.com and they deliver within a few days. Orange bulbs included.
