My new 911 Targa!

Flew out yesterday and drove it back last night! 10 hour drive, so a perfect time to get to know my new car! This is the first Porsche we've owned, so we're pretty excited.

Looks great! Welcome to the Targa world. You are really going to enjoy the topless Porsche experience. Winter has departed. Have fun.

Congratulations!! Enjoy and keep it nice looking especially with that red interior..red center fuchs would look cool. I remember when I bought my first porsche 28 years ago( 74-914 2.0) then 2-years later I bought my first 911, which I still own to this day. You will have moments when you just won't be able to wipe the stupid grin off your face thinking about the pride of ownership.

What year is that? The inside vents look like a 87-89 but the headlights look like a 85.

Keen eye!! It is indeed a 1986. Any idea how rare a white on red targa is?

And yes...it's an interesting car to be sure. Will be lots of fun. Not anywhere near the performance of the Supra though. But nonetheless...I'm sure it will be TONS of fun every time we get behind the wheel. Am enjoying it already, and am showing it some love by hitting it with Ricardo Yellow clay bar this afternoon!

Thanks for the credit...but it's undeserved. Previous owner maintained it properly (it's definitely a driver, not a garage queen). Plus a very thorough PPI before hand. I did put some Continental DW tires on prior to my arrival, as the tires were a bit iffy.

But the car was driven LOTS (246,000 miles!) and cared for and the owner said he would not hesitate to drive it cross country. So with the car well maintained and a good PPI, I didn't think we were safe taking a chance. Plus I brought my 90 lb wife to push the car if need be!!

Drove mine from Vegas to West Texas, pretty much the same drive. No problems here, it's good time for bonding.

BTW, the Grand Prix White with that lipstick red interior is sweet. Very, very nice car. Welcom to the site.
