Will Carrera flapper boxes fit straight on to a 3.0 SC?
After having no luck finding a Canoodle sleeve (the sleeve that the auto heat sensor rivets into) for my 1982 SC I have managed to find a later set of very good condition Carrera flapper boxes and the left flapper has the holes for the auto heat sensor to rivet in to as well.
My question is will these later flapper boxes be a straight replacement fit or is there more to it. I know that the heater hoses will probably have to be shortened to connect between the boxes and the heat exchangers. The later ones have a longer sleeve than the original earlier flappers but apart from that they appear the same.

Yoy will have to shorten the hoses, but they will work. Got one here with those flapper boxes & needed hoses. A real S$$% to put hoses on, especially when the last joker put rusty nuts back on them. You must unbolt the flappers & slide the hose on.

Thanks for that Howard.
I have just finished stripping, cleaning, painting and reassembling the first one of the pair that I recently bought. I much prefer using these original flapper boxes and after a bit of hard work they don't look half bad, even if I do say so myself. ![]() ![]() ![]()
