Anyone have any recommendations for/experience with wheel spacers for a '73 with 15x6" Fuchs? I'm looking for the most cost effective way to narrow the gap between the rear wheels and fender lip. The fronts are spot on (stock). I'd like to do it for aesthetic reasons primarily, but figure a small increase in rear track wouldn't be a bad thing for handling either. Ideally, I'd like to keep the standard studs, but I'm not sure how thick of spacer could be used and still keep plenty of "meat" available to the lug nuts.
Thanks! |

The spacer size can be determined by measuring the distance from the tire side wall to within 1/2" from fender lip(or fender if lip is rolled). Obviously this measurement will vary somewhat if tire size is changed in the future. Are you running 205s or 195s?? One other consideration is the 911 squat. If you go wider and your rear suspension allows the car to squat on acceleration, or in and out of turns, then your tires will rub on the upper part of the wheel well. Have you increased the size of the rear torsion bars? And do you have a rear sway bar?? Nice looking P-car. I'm partial to narrow bodies my self.

Generally for racing the amount of lug required is stated to be that thread engagement should equal the width of the lug itself...
