Noises

I have a 69S,901 trans. When started cold, as I rev the car up a bit to about 3000rpm, I get a loud howling type of noise that stops when I push in the clutch. I am thinking throw out bearing, although it has recently been replaced. What do you guys think? BTW, I also hear this noise sometimes when starting out from a stopped position in first gear. Thanks in advance.....
