1972 Oil Console Machining for Thermostat - 45mm photos
45mm x 45mm deep looks to be the number
the bore is partially finished on the 1972 oil console to 42mm - needs to go to 45mm + ch for the thermostat s.b. ~ $40-60 to have a machine shop do this. photos: ![]() ![]() ![]() need an m26 to m30 union like elephant sells (they also sell an m30x1.5 to an16 adapter) the threads on the m30 are 30mm x 1.5, not the more common 30mm x2 bore bored bit behr

Be sure to completely disassemble the console before machining. Remove everything. Else metal particles will be into everything.
We clean them ultrasonically to remove any metal particles before reassembly. Highly recommended.

thank you for the advice - could not find the right tool to get the pressure release cap off. I did bend a couple of stacked quarters however :-)
when is the next elephant open house?
