Opinions on tire size for 9Jx16

I know many Pelicans, including myself, would love to put on 9s, but the lack of 245/45-16s are making it difficult. Have any of you ever looked or used 245/50-16s on 9s instead? I used the Miata tire app and it shows them as being 3.9% too slow so that the speedometer showing 60mph would be 62.3mph.
Any real world experience and opinions are welcome.

245s fit on 8s, for a 9, go with a 255-265- or 275..

245-50s look like a nascar tire. Huge sidewalls...

245/45/16s work very well on 9's. What specific tyre are you looking for that doesn't come in 245/45? I would have thought there would be even less choices in the 245/50 size.

Haven't found a lot of manufacturers that publish recommended wheel widths for each tyre size. But Hoosier does. I've used their standard for many fitments questions. That and Paul at Radial Tire in Silver Spring MD.
