Headlight gremlins
Ok, this is weird. On low beams my left headlight is normal and my right one is so dim it's glowing orange.
On high beams my left headlight goes dim and my right acts like a proper headlight on brights. Also, the little blue high beam indicator light doesn't go on. If I flick back and forth it's kind of a neat effect but doesn't make for very good night visibility. It just started doing this. Any "bright" ideas anyone? Do I need to sacrifice a virgin to the headlight gods? Where can I find a virgin anyway? thx/bc

Sorry, no 'bright' ideas, but why not look on the bright side!
I would start by checking all the connections and voltage at the lights and connections as it seems as though there isn't enough power getting through. As for virgins.........rather try finding a low mileage RS lying abandoned in a barn for $1000!

Brian,
The two major problems with headlamps are the fuse block and the control stalk. I suggest cleaning the four fuse locations with an abrasive ink eraser ... followed by generous application of silicone grease and new fuses. If the fuse block cleaning doesn't help ... rest assured it will eliminate future problems! For the control stalk ... remove the plastic covers, then try a careful application of brake spray degreaser by Q-tip.
