Help w/ Engine Number
 
I have what I have been told is a 3.0SC engine. It's number is 6590062. Can someone tell me what I have? I also would like to know how to decipher these numbers. Thanks, Gary

Gary,

6590062 decodes as:
6 = Unit type 6-cyl engine.
5 = 911SC – California 930/06.
9 = Model year 1979.
0062 = Consecutive serial number, no exceptions apply.
