Where are folks buying rear shoulder belts?

Hi,

Read all the threads I could find on installing rear shoulder belts (I have an '86 coupe) as I would like to have a safe booster seat install for my four year old. Unfortunately PEP informed me they are no longer doing the three-point belts for newer 911s.

Aside from a dismantler, is there any source for quality three-point belts to retrofit the back seat of a Carrera?

Thanks much!

I have a pair of used but nice Carrera 3-pt belts that never got installed. Think I paid around $100. Please let me know if you are interested.

Great question and I'm glad you asked, I've checked the pepparts.com site and didn't see them listed. Don't know if they would be a custom order part or not. Report back what you find out! Thanks!!!

I reached to PEP about a month ago and they told me they are no longer handling the late-model 911 rear belts (stock or special order). They referred me to a company that does belts for American classics but I've gotten no response from them.

I know this sounds fatalistic, but here it goes...

I went though this with my '86 coupe a few years back. The only ones I could find were from a dismantler. Bottom line was, I was not willing to place my child in a seat with worn/used/unknown seat belts. It just was not worth it to me.

I could be WAY over-protective, but that's the route I took. I then removed the seats, seat belts, yadda, yadda and have more space back there for other things (I actually fit my mountain bike back there once!!!

My $0.02.

Al
