Generator light on-generator seems fine
I have a constant glow from my generator light (not dim, bright) but absolutely no evidence that the generator is not charging properly. Engine always cranks smartly and everything electrical seems fine. Any ideas as to what would cause a "false" warning light?

Just WHAT EVIDENCE do you have? Is your system Voltage a constant 13.8 Volts from idle to 6000 rpm under all driving conditions???

Point well taken. I assumed that I would have a weak battery by now if there was an inadequate charge from the generator...perhaps wishful thinking.
As a curious aside, my Dad's 1950's vintage farm tractor has both an ammeter AND a voltmeter on the "dash." Why not a Porsche? ![]() |
