Porsche Crest Moving to Upstate NY...Any Pelicans & Wrenches Up There???

Good Evening All.....

I am leaving the South and heading to Upstate New York, to Glens Falls / Albany / Wilton / Saratoga Springs / Wilton areas and am wondering if there are any Pelicans up there that can recommend a good solid Porsche Garage for any future engine work (I tend to most everything else myself)...

The wife and I are active PCA members and I have recently become certified as a DE PCA Instructor......a goal I had when I first joined the PCA. I want to give back .....and cannot wait to become a part of the Hudson Champlain/ Hudson Valley Region.

Any pointers would be greatly received., and please feel free to let us know how to proceed.........

Best Regards

Neil

In in the Poughkeepsie area about 1/2 way there from NYC. You will love it up there.

We have a home in the Finger Lakes (Canandaigua Lake) and there are a couple of excellent places to service your 911.

Eksten Autoworks, Rochester 585.261.8200

CDI, Victor NY 585.924.3598 (Scott Park)

I take my car's to both places depending on what needs doing. Best of luck and hope this helps.

Cheers !

I've got a place near Oneonta. There is a new track nearby in Davenport, NY called the New York State Safety Track. I ran it last autumn on an invite only pre-opening thing, you can run it clockwise and counterclockwise which is a nice option... And completely bewildering as every landmark and your mental map is completely off.
Peter Dawes Motorports is reasonably nearby in the Pocono / Delaware River Gap area. Google them and you'll be impressed even though they've probably never logged onto Pelican.
Welcome.

check these guys out in Albany:

R&D Automotive Services Page

They helped me get a neglected "barn find" going and I believe Will Ferch uses them as well

Welcome to New Yuck the Vampire State. It is truely a beautiful area. Lots of great roads and tracks. I'm nearly ready to have my 79SC back on the road and thinking of rejoining PCA to get in some track days. The Glen is my favorite as well as LRP. I have not been on a track since I sold my SCCA ITB Golf.

If all works out maybe we'll meet at an event. I'm about 40 miles south of Albany (Woodstock) and do my own wrenching so no help in a shop recommendation.

Good luck with the move.

Have to disagree with you. I grew up in Schenectady, NY and the state is divided into 2 regions. NYC and upstate. That's all there is.

I grew up in rockland county, 20 mile drive from midtown, easy commute, yet it's called 'upstate'
