				Insurance HELP

Hi This recently happened to a friend.... This took place in CT anyone have experience with something like this before. In today's mail, I got a "gotcha" letter from the State of CT, telling me that I'm in violation of the law because I didn't continuously maintain liability insurance on a registered vehicle, and that I owe them $100. Seems that my insurance company dutifully notified the state, and that it only took the state 4 months to notify me. Anyone got any (helpful) ideas? I assumed this was a typical practice. Thanks.

Get as much documentation from your insurance company as possible proving that the insurance company did their job. With that in hand, you can contest the payment.

Florida does that, It has caused me some trouble in transfering vehicles out of state before. I got letters after the fact that stated I wa introuble for having a registered car w/o ins. yet I was out of state and titled in the new state and of course insured. The real funny thing was they had my new address! They only see the info they want to see to get a few more dollars. Dennis H. 72 911E | ||
