Question 964 Oil Leaks - Let's get the facts

There has recently been threads on Titanic, Rennlist and SmartGroup boards re the infamous 964 oil leak. I believe most of this is overblown.

On the SmartGroup there is a survey/questionnaire/voting facility. I have set up a 964 Oil Leak Questionnaire there. Even if you have not had any leak probs, please pop over and complete the questionnaire.

You do need to be a member of the Group. But is doesn't take a moment to join and you can elect not to receive any postings etc.
Goto www.smartgroups.com/groups/964porsche ,join if not a member and select the Vote->List Votes menu. Questionnaire open 'til 10th Aug.

In anticipation of your help and some interesting results,
Thanks
John

For what reason are you doing this? Are you taking the suggestion of 964 oil leaks personally? With your data, what then? Your post poses more questions than answers.

I maintain a website on all things 964. I am about to write a page on what to look for when buying a 964. Want to present the facts re supposed cylinder head problem. Also as I said in my email there are three other board threads on this subject at the moment where interpreting the info is hard.

Take a look at the questionnaire results and you will see how much easier such presentation makes interpretation.

Please add your data, take a look at the results and you may find more answers than questions.

I don't own a 964 though and your presentation appears to be interested in these cars only. I also don't have any leaks.

89911- so why are you even reading this thread!!!!!
Give the guy a break!
FYI-I have a normal 911 that has leaks, but I am interested in this thread as I may soon purchase a 964 and would like to be clued up on it's shortcomings and PPI pointers.

I have been asked to participate. I would like to know for what reasons, with your permission.

Ummm don't mean to be rude, but 89911, the idea is that IF you own a 964 AND you feel so inclined THEN join and answer the questions. It is not compulsory!! Is it really that hard to understand???

Question

Not to offend any 964 conspiracy theorists, but I share 89911's questions.

Are voluntary responses to a website questionaire intended to be used as primary source documentation, either pro or con, in a publication regarding 964's?

I think 89's questions are valid, IMHO.
