Isn't Life Great!
Today is a good day! After 6 long months and countless hours, my ‘69T is running again. During the six months, I rebuilt a 2.4L T motor as well as the 901 transmission that was originally in the car. Upgrades included JE 86mm 9.5 pistons, Elgin Modified S cam, carrera tensioners, SSI exhaust, and MFI pump recalibrated to S specs. After priming the motor for a couple of minutes with the coil wire disconnected, I anxiously turned the motor over, and much to my surprise, it started on the first try. While I’ve got some fine tuning yet to do, I now have a car that runs!!! I can’t wait to see how the new motor runs. Had to share.
Ron

Congratulations. It is always an anxious few moments when one fires it up after a rebuild. Get it tuned up and rolling and broken-in and then listen to that wonderful growl (it's no longer a flat-6 whine at that point) when it gets on cam. Cheers, Jim

Ron,
Congratulations. Isn't it a great feeling to see the end (yah, right) of a project. Enjoy. It sounds like you've got a really nice motor. Don't you just hate break-in periods? Rick

Ron, I used Elgin's modS cam as well, I am just approaching 500 miles on my rebuild so I have not really gotten on the cam yet.
I'm anxious to see if it produces any noticeable difference. Congrats on your rebuild!
