Le Mans classic 21-22 Sept. 2002

Hi guys,
There's gonna be a first "Le Mans Classic 24 hours" event on 20-22 September 2002 (at Le Mans, France), and from what I've read, there's already a bunch of Le Mans aces signed up, and firm participation of 904's, 910's, GT40's, Alfa Tipo 33's, Lola T70's and (but this is an unconfirmed rumor, a 917... don't hold that on me!). There's said to be some 5 groups of cars competing in their classes, from pre-WW2 through 1970's cars. Surely, this event is looking to turn into a world event for "Classic" cars, and I would think there may be considerable interest for it, especially from those who are within striking distance of west-France. What's the chances of seeing some Pelicanites there??? Come on U.K., Mikkel, und unsere freunden aus Deutschland, ja?? BTW, the French Club911 is already whipping up interest for a gathering so, if there's any interest, let me know and I'll try to keep you informed as to the benefits associated with that group of looneys! I also understand there would be free parking for any Porsche cars vintage older than 1993 (unconfirmed), any way, let's hear it!

I would love to go! I will seriously see if I'm able to in any way.
Thanks for the info, Paul.

Paul,

Would love to hear/see a 917 again... nothing like it in the world.

Are there any websites up with more information on this race?

Thx,

Joe

Thanks Hugo for your link. I just sent the organisers an email with pertinent questions, so maybe they will keep me informed...I asked if the 917 would be there, stating the "surely the whole world would show up for that" (a matter of influencing them, you never know if such lobbying helps ).
