I prop the lid open after every drive (I admit only on nice weekends) even during the winter months! It's a habit plus it's convenient to remember to check the oil right after the drive and check the fan belt before the drive. Plus I enjoy watching the fan spin for a minute before shutting down the engine (need to cool down the turbo anyway).
