Installed my Golden Rod!
I have a 1991 964 turbo with 45k miles. I was trying to improve the shifting on my car. I had heard some great reviews of the golden rod upgrade through FD motorsports. I was not sure I would see much improvement since my car had low miles. WOW was I wrong. I removed my shifting rod, and was shocked how much play a low mileage car like mine had!
My next step was to call Darin at FD motorsports. We discussed the rod upgrade, and I mailed it off. He upgraded my rod, and sent it right back out! The new rod was a HUGE improvement over stock, and I would recommend it for sure. I can only imagine what kind of play a stock shifting rod has in it on a high mileage car! Thanks Darin for your great product! Here are a couple pics trying to show the play in my rod, and the last one showing the BEAUTIFUL Golden Rod.......the name alone makes it worth it ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Love the name. I am so glad you are keeping the car. Builds like yours are an inspiration to the rest of us...

Nice. I'm glad you like the improvement. Your joint did have some looseness in it.

Yes it was a plug and play drop in improvement upgrade. I am ready to get to the track and try it out.
