What's This?

Here is a picture looking through the dash speaker cover of my 1975 S.

I am sondering about the silver unit between the rear window defogger switch (left) and the cig liter (right). The reason is when the ignition is turned on, the unit makes a click-clicking every 15 seconds. Is it some sort of relay?

i'm not real familiar with 70's prosches, but it looks as if it would have something to do with your rear window defroster. i hear a similar "click" every once in a while coming from the same general location in my carerra.
maybee someone else has an idea?

I don't know much whats in the earlier cars, but could it be a relay for the windshield wiper delay? Those of us with SC's have such a relay, and it does click in a rhythmic fashion when turned on.

Isn't there a rhythmic clicking for the idle valve circuitry for the 3.0 SCs?

Could this be it for the '75 S?

In reality... I have NO IDEA.

Sorry. Just thought I woudl throw it out there.

Disconnect it and see what does or doesn't work! j/k

It click-clicks when the ignition is on. No matter what other accessory is on, it still clicks.

Also, the wires from this thing run back below all the gauges--I have yet to be able to find the point at which they terminate (or start).

It's a conspiracy!!!!
