Front Turn Signals/Housings

I need to do two things to get my 1971 T inspected: New tires, get the front turn signals working. Tires are on order.

I pulled the lenses and tried to remove the bulbs from the housing sockets. No luck. It's like there welded in there from corrosion. I tried both sides.

The passenger side as it came out in pieces. I found a used one on the parts forum or a new one from http://www.*********************.com. They are both about the same price. Any comments on the quality of the Sierra Madre units?

I sprayed PB Blaster in and around the bulbs several times last night and this morning. All I managed to do was break the bulb off. Open to suggestions.

Try using some needle nose pliers to grasp the broken bulb base and turn it. Make sure you are pushing in before you turn.

Thanks, that's what I tried. No luck so far. I'll keep pouring the PB Blaster to it.

I can recommend the SM replicas, they are not concours but they work and fit fine. You can remove those corroded in bulbs by working at them from both sides once you have the assembly on the bench. You may have to take the bulb base out in pieces using needle nose pliers, the metal will tear easily enough when you grip it and twist.
