Show me your ride height, or help with mine Please!!!!!

I have a 1978 Targa SC and it seems like the rear is sagging. Is this a common issue? I had my mechanic raise it but then it was too high. He said the torsion bar has splines on both sides, one side with large increments (that is what he tried) and the other side has smaller notches but is a huge project to get to. Any suggestions? This is the only issue that needs immediate attention on my car and it drives me nuts looking at it. Please see photo. Please help....

Do a search, there are a number of threads on ride height.

+1

Don't forget to get your alignment checked and adjusted if you lower it more than 1/4 inch.

FWIW-I think the car looks fine the way it is,

The front is very easy to adjust, you can lower the front a little.

Additionally, with your car being an SC, you have adjustable spring plates in the rear of the car. You can make +/-0.75" height adjustments at the rear of your car using only the adjustment on your spring plates. A good Porsche mechanic would know this, so you may want to find somebody else to adjust your ride height, or tell him you want it adjusted using this technique.

As already suggested, when you're happy with the ride height on the car, make sure to get it aligned.

Here is a link to ride heights. There are height adjustments mentioned for heights of fender well tops above ground. Though not the most accurate measurement, I think for street use it is quite good.

911SC. Which is the factory ride height?
