Another Pelican success story.

Bought car with inop clock. OK, it happens. I can try and fix, or send it to NHS for refurb. Or not - I wear a watch. I spy one day in the Parts FS section a guy selling off Carrera interior parts. "Hey," I PM him, "you got any of your gauges left? If so, I'll take them," think that they'd make good cores if I sent any of my off or if I wanted a custom gauge. Price was right for the gauges (really right - a total bargain, really). I wasn't really interested in using the gauges - the faces all have some sort of strange spots on the plastic that look etched - but passing up a bargain is hard.

I get the inop clock out of my dash and think "hmmm, Eric - why not put in this other clock to see if it works?"

Lo and behold - a functional clock that has kept time overnight. And now, I go off to search what folks use to polish plastic gauge faces. Thanks, Pelican!

Good for you, but I have a wristwatch, a cell phone and a stereo that keeps perfect time. I like my CHT/Volt meter that I replaced the in dash clock with...

DING! DING! DING!

I like the idea. I REALLY like the idea.

At $300, it's on the list, but down there somewhere after the AC gets fully-functional, after I clean up the hack-job wiring under the dash, and do a doctoral dissertation on the function of each of the climate control levers and knobs.

While slightly diff in appearance, I had a custom made Westach gauge made. IIRC it was $180 USD.

JB, do you have a link about that gauge you're talking about? And how difficult would the electronic mods be?

One time I needed a good used left front fog light.

I went on Pelican classifieds, found one for sale for a good price and bought it.

The guy shipped it to me, I got it in a week or so, and put it on my car.

It was so awesome.

I got my M&K exhaust and steering wheel from Pelicans. The exhaust was also ceramic-coated and in perfect condition. It was such a bargain that the money saved paid for my Steve Wong chip. As for the steering wheel, it has a nive vintage feel to it, and I found a used Fuchs center cap and used it for the horn button.
