It's interesting, I was at one of the premier Gullwing restorers a couple of weeks ago and he told me of a customer that bought a car sight unseen. When he flew in to pick it up, he saw another car in the shop and wanted his freshly restored Gullwing changed to match the other car in the shop....150k to change the colour and interior to suit. I guess when you're paying a million dollars for a car, you are used to getting what you want....and if an additional 150k gets you what you want , it's a no-brainer. Just as an aside, the one kind of "reddy orange" he had, was going for a "cheap" 850k because "no one wants that colour anymore". I personally think that the older a car gets, the more reluctant I would be to depart from originality...not so much a financial thing but more a respect thing. Obviously you are appealing to a different crowd when selling a modified car, maybe you might get more $ for the broader current appeal....apparently it is for the Gullwing crowd. Cheers

I do not care if a car has had a color change, as long as it was done completely (under hood & trunk, door jambs, etc...).

There is no question, however, that there are many people who hate it...

And yes it's completely box stock, engine re-worked (certs, etc) trans refreshed, suspension this summer.
Thanks for all your input.

if possible, get rid of your wife and keep the car silver

I prefer to keep the car as original as possible. Not a big fan of color changes. I do think it hurts the value.

My 914-6 is a color change and it will cost me someday to put it back correct.
