Mine are the same way: One spring loaded one with a stiff spring that resists turning, fitting into its own slot, and one that turns with the handle on each side of the front that locks into its own slot when the handle is turned. I never noticed this before. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Lube the unit so the ones that are are not operated by the levers move freely. They are probably gunked up.

1. Hook latch problems: Lack of lubrication on the safety hook parts of the latch that cause it too not close and thus no safety. One needs to oil it and work several dozen times. Second is the retaining screws that hold it to the arm get loose and allows it to slip by receiver. Then top flies off at sped when hitting a bump in the road. One latch will not hold the top on.

2. Roller Latch Allen bolts which hold the latch to the frame comes loose and latch disengages it self from receiver. Second is the earlier roller latches break causing the roller to spin 360 degrees instead of 100 degrees. Both case when hitting bump in the road top fly off.

Check your latches
