She's Cold as Ice!!!!!

I picked up the SC today, after having the finishing touches put on the A/C system. The cost to finish everything was double what I had planned, but the work is amazing. Each fitting was custom made, and retaining plates were welded to the fittings to secure the hoses in areas like the deck lid condensor. Even the fittings to the compressor were custom made to ensure perfect routing of hoses.

The new evaporator blower moves so much air on high, that it blows condensation from the evaporator through the vents!! The system blows ice cold air, so I'm set for summer (and it gets hot here in Florida!!).

Anyone serious about ice cold A/C in a 911 ought to seriously consider an underdash unit. My system now performs like the system in my '74 VW Super Beetle, which would keep beer cold in the dead of summer.

I'm heading out for vacation, so I'll post pictures of the installation when I get back.

Later.............

Sure, figure out a way to get cold air out of a P-car AC system and then immediately leave on vacation. When you get back, how about a point by point description of the work done, materials used, sources utilized and if you don't mind cost.

Michael,

WE CAN FIND YOU, NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE ON VACATION! This is like leaving a turbo in the driveway and hiding the keys on us somewhere! Details man, we need more details!

Pls post some pics on what it looks like and where you put the extra condensor and such, or we will come and hijack your car! You have me talked into replacing my hoses already!

Enjoy the time off!

Joe

Sorry guys........My time is so compressed it's ridiculous.......8am EST (Saturday) and I'm off.......

I travel extensively in my job, and taking vacation is really a luxury for me. My wife got hold of my paycheck, and when she realized I had 5 weeks accrued, I had no choice but to take some time off (or be buried in the SC)! I surely had to have A/C before that!!!!

You have my word that I'll post a detailed account, along with pictures, when I return!!

By the way, anyone live the the Charleston, SC area?

Ahhh, Michael.....isn't it funny how things/times change?
Just a few months ago, you were faced with selling your beloved SC. Now you've turned it into a refrigerator!

Michael,

We all (who have been married that is) understand what you are talking about. (when Mama is not happy, life is not good, when Mama is happy life is grand)

Do as needed to keep your SC cold and wife warm!

Really glad it worked and waiting for a complete report when you get back.

Joe
